I am the son of deceased 1st Lt. Thomas A. Ryan, Jr. who graduated The Army Air Forces Navigation School in Class 45-12 N, April 21st, 1945.  My father’s records were apparently in those destroyed in the 1973 fire in St. Louis, MO.  I was wondering if anyone had information on this class (graduation photo, names of others, etc.).  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Douglas J. Ryan, Milford, MI

My father trained at Hondo in 1944 in an AT6 for the AAF.  He also married my mother in Hondo.  My wife, mother, and I visited Hondo in 1997 and wander around the base.  A restaurant there had some amazing WWII memorabilia, including a poster showing the USS Arizona afloat in Pearl Harbor, reportedly taken from a Japanese gun camera.  How can I contact the restaurant to find a copy of that photo? I also have my dad's flight training manual, and part of his training log.

My Dad, Lt. Clinton E. (Ted) Shuler was trained as a Navigator and flew in the B-24 Liberator, first trained at Kelly Air Field and then he graduated in Class 42-13 on September 26, 1942 from the USAAF Navigation School at Hondo, TX.  I have the original invitation announcing this event.  He was assigned to the 8th Air Force, 44th Bomb Group.  He went from Hondo to Tuscon, AZ and Almagardo, NM and then to Topeka, KS for training and then to England for 26 total missions flown over Germany, Sicily, Italy and the Polesti Raid over Rumania.   He is deceased.  I am his daughter.

My father, served at Hondo AAFB in WWII.  He was enlisted and flew missions from Hondo in B-24s down the coast to Rio and back looking for German submarines.  If any one knows about these missions, has material on them, knows about material on them, I would love to hear from you. Thank you.
